September 8, 2004Ok, maybe someone can help me out...I replaced my front brakes a couple months ago andthey are kinda squealing when i slow to a stop. they are not worn much and i dunno what might be causing them to do that. the noise kinda sounds like a squealing and grinding combined.
September 8, 2004did you put brake pad grease on the backside of the pad? the grinding sounds like you may be eatin up your rear drums. not sure though
September 8, 2004Might need to check your rotors. lol i let mine go so long on my car that they looked like fan blades by the time i changed them!!!
September 8, 2004The sound is from up front...thats for sure...I am going to get my rotors turned today cuz they need it. bUt if its not that i dunno what it could be.
September 8, 2004Good idea especially if its definately grinding. If its not the front, just a shot in the wind here but maybe have the back ones checked just to be on the safe side.
September 8, 2004tell us how it goes man. the only reason i said the rear is cause you said you had just changed out the front and i wouldn't think it would grind with new pads. if you say its from the front, thats where it is. those rotors do some funny stuff when they get that wave to em
September 8, 2004Yea i know...my cousin works at shop and he was gonna turn my rotors for me tomorrow morning and he said that he would check the rear and front brakes while the rotors were off...We'll see hoe it goes..I'll let you all know..
September 11, 2004well it looks like it was the rotors afterall...they were pretty warped. I don't think i'll be able to turn them again..lol..oh well, they're good for now
September 11, 2004Were they the stock rotors? What the heck are you West Texas boys doin' in order warp stock rotors? And an even better question...what in the heck are you doin' with stock rotors on your truck? CDB
September 11, 2004Yeah, get some Powerslots for it when you change em...or a big brake upgrade lol
