nitefire (or anyone), I have a question maybe you can answer. I am planning the same swap. I have done atleast 50 engine swaps in Hondas, but none in nissans. Can you tell me how much extra work is involved when you start with an older truck (like an 86 that has old school TB injection)? It seems to me that it would be a pain in the ass. Also, did the ecu plugs change throughout the hardbody years? 86-97 I know Honda changed their plugs for example in 88, 92, 96, and 99. So when your doing a swap in a Honda, you have to match the ecu within those years. I haven't seen anything anywhere that mentions plug changes in Nissans. I want to make sure to match my SR's ecu to the trucks plugs.
As you can see, my main concern with the swap is wiring. So please give me any important details you know about wiring. Thanks a lot!
PS- I know a guy that has a 91 hardbody with the SR20DET and it rolls! The twin turbo 6cyl engines are badass, but you gotta consider prices! For a manual Supra swap... aprox $5000 (if you can find one). For a manual TT 300ZX swap... aprox $4000. Then there's the SR20DET... under $2000, 200hp out the box and easy to make 300+ hp. plus, it bolts in pretty easy.
